Why should I participate?

Did you know that up to 50% of household waste is composed of food waste? By helping your municipality address food waste, you are supporting your community's environmental initiatives, while reducing your carbon footprint.

    What is required of me?

Not much! Purchase a FoodCycler from your municipality at a subsidized cost, track your use once a week for a period of 12 weeks and then answer a brief exit survey.

    How does the program work?

The Town will only have 100 household FoodCyclers available. It will be provided on a first-come, first-serve basis. Registration does not guarantee spot, it is based on payment.

1- Register by completing the registration form https://bit.ly/FCSCochrane

2- Make a payment to secure your spot (Town Hall)

3- All units will be available for pickup on a specific day (mid-December)

4- Track the amount of waste you divert with a tracking sheet (instructions to be provided with unit)

5- Fill out a closing survey at the end of the 12-week period

    What models are available?

    FC-30: $150 + tax

    Eco5: $300 + tax

Are people in unorganized townships able to register as well?

Yes we will accept unorganized townships. Ultimately, those who use our landfill would qualify so if you have a P0L 1C0 postal code, we will likely consider it.

Are there still spots available for someone who wishes to participate in the Pilot Program?

Yes, there are still spots available for anyone who wishes to participate in this Pilot Program.  Spots are limited and will be assigned on a first come, first served basis.
